Happy anniversary honey, xoxo!

After a carriage ride in Central Park Manhattan one autumn day, Michael slipped a Tacori solitaire diamond on Kristin’s finger and asked her to be his wife. “I was so excited!, every time at look at the ring it brings me back to that beautiful day in the city and the dreams of marrying my best friend” Love says.

What should have been was and what could have been, well, what else matters when you’re marrying the love of your life…

The couple planned an intimate ceremony at Beavertail light house with a tented reception at Weatherledge estate in Jamestown. The weekend of the wedding, tropical storm Danny arrived uninvited, blowing the outdoor reception into the Bay Room at the Bay Voyage Inn. Where ironically they first met while Hervieux was Executive chef and Love was event manager.

Love, owner and wedding planner at Details with Love, certainly knows a thing or two about adapting to last minute changes. “in my experience, one thing you can’t control in planning a New England destination wedding is the weather” Love says. “My advice to brides: try not to stress…go with it, have fun and enjoy!, some of the best moments are created in the most unexpected circumstances that you will look back fondly on for years to come”.

The bride wore a flowing Gemy design with vintage Swarovski jewelry. A rich palette of chocolate brown and white orchid with urns of sea grass set the stage for a stormy summer wedding. Guests should have expected the food to be extraordinary, and the gourmand chef did not disappoint. Guest were greeted with a St. Germain cocktail and an elaborate display of assorted artisan cheeses and Tuscan style hors d' oeuvres. Grilling stations with attending chefs offered bbq pork tenderloin and striped sea bass along with seasonal accompaniments. To finish off the night, assorted mini desserts with specialty coffee were enjoyed by the guests.

Close friends and family danced the night away to the music of Chelley, Bill & Dyl, with a very special performance of "stand by me" sang by the brides cousin Todd of Bob's Day off. The couple danced to Taj Mahal’s “never let you go” and headed to their honeymoon in St. Lucia in fall.

Lovely Little Details: Flower Girl Wands

Flower Girl Wands

Fabric and paper blooms are always in season. The best part? You can make these faux flowers, suitable for formal and casual weddings, in advance. They're easy; all you need are a few supplies and your own loving hands.

Think of the joy this scene would evoke: flower girls skipping down the aisle, bearing beribboned wands that mimic the fluttering and falling of cherry blossoms. Wrap a dowel in ribbon, thumbtacked on ribbons of various lengths, and finished off by gluing on confetti flowers. (To make the flowers, gather a bunch of the confetti petals together and start gluing.) The adorable "Blossom" flower girl dresses are from Ash & Robbins, matthewrobbinsdesign.com.

They are such a lovely couple and with lots of love in every little detail, I can’t wait till their big day! During their visit to Newport we were definitely inspired by the breathtaking surroundings of our seaside town and we began collaborating with our neighboring vendors on their E shoot Newport Style...just another day at the office, we love what we do! xo

Happy wedding Rachel + Stefan!

we were so excited to be part of Rachel + Stefan’s {love} story this past weekend, in collaboration with some of our very favorites...it was such a pleasure working with the talented Stacey D who documented their emotionally beautiful moments here:

From Stacey Doyle Photography:

The Manning Chapel was the backdrop for their ceremony. There were quite a few more tears and one big surprise. Stefan surprised Rachel with a song he wrote, which he sung to her before they shared their vows. [insert a collective sigh here] It was wonderful!!

After that, everyone headed over to the Providence Art Club for their reception. What a fab place for a wedding! From the art on the walls, all the little nooks and crannies, the amazing food, the spot-on decor (thanks to Kristin Love of details with love & Christina of Flowers 539) and amazing dance moves (groovin’ music provided by Groove Authority), this party was outstanding!

Congrats Rachel + Stefan, your wedding was a good reminder of why I love love!!! Thank you!

The Perfect Dress

The most important dress a girl will wear is her wedding dress. So, with so many to chose from how do you find that perfect dress? One of our local favorites, Beth Chapman of The White Dress by the Shore offers some great tips for making the search a little easier ...

1. Secure your wedding date and venue

Before beginning to shop for your gown, you should have your wedding date and venue secured. Your decision will be much easier to make if you can envision yourself wearing your gown in the setting of your wedding.

2. Set a budget

In creating your wedding budget, be sure to include a realistic budget for your wedding attire. Your budget should include an allocation for not only the gown, but accessories (bra, veil, jewelry and shoes), alterations and gown cleaning and preservation after the wedding.

It is very important to articulate your budget to the sales associate when shopping for your gown. You do not want to fall in love with something that does not fit your budget.

3. Do your research

Prior to beginning to shop, research salons that carry designers that meet your taste level and budget. Evaluate the types of stores that you like to shop in for your everyday clothes and be sure that you select the correct shopping environment for you. If you are a department store shopper, a larger bridal salon with a large selection of gowns may be the right fit for you. If you prefer to shop in small boutiques, then a smaller, more intimate bridal store would most likely be best for you.

Visit the salon’s website before calling to set an appointment to ensure that the selection and price range meets your needs. It is also helpful to read the bridal blogs to find out what other brides to be have to say about the stores that you plan to visit.
